1Kings17:1-6nkjv

12 So she said, “As the Lord your God lives, I do not have bread, only a handful of flour in a bin, and a little oil in a jar; and see, I am gathering a couple of sticks that I may go in and prepare it for myself and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”

13 And Elijah said to her, “Do not fear; go and do as you have said, but make me a small cake from it first, and bring it to me; and afterward make some for yourself and your son.

14 For thus says the Lord God of Israel: ‘The bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry, until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.’ ”

15 So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he and her household ate for many days.

16 The bin of flour was not used up, nor did the jar of oil run dry, according to the word of the Lord which He spoke by Elijah.

Give it to God---Faith that goes beyond our resources.

Faith requires blind trust in God, I cannot see beyond my current circumstances, yet I am going

to trust the one who is leading

In 1Kings 17, There is a story of the Prophet Elijah is sent to live with a widow.  God had told Elijah

"I have commanded a widow to provide for you.  Elijah follows God's direction and goes to the home of

the widow only to find that she is poor and she is down to her last. Her resources was only a small

amount of flour and some oil with which she was going to prepare a last meal for her and her son.

Yet when Elijah asks her to make a cake for him, serve him first and then make cakes for herself and son.

This was a test of her faith in the word of God. The promise was if she would obey the request from

Elijah, the result would be an endless supply of flour and oil. God would increase what she had if you would give what you have to Him.

We can commit what we have to God because:

God knows our need

God has what we need

God will supply all our need according to His riches!!!

The little we have is more than enough when we give it to God.
