ISAIAH 55:6-11

6 Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon Him while He is near.

 7 Let the wicked forsake his way, And the unrighteous man his thoughts;  Let him return to the Lord, And He will have mercy on him;  And to our God, For He will abundantly pardon.

 8  “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways

My ways,” says the Lord.

 9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

 10 “For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven,

And do not return there,But water the earth,And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater,

 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;

It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please,And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

LIVING GOD'S WAY

 

GOD WANTS ALL OF US TO LIVE OUR BEST LIVES. JESUS WHEN SPEAKING TO HIS DISCIPLES IN JOHN 10:10 THE THIEF (SATAN) DOES NOT COME EXCEPT TO STEAL AND TO KILL AND TO DESTROY, I HAVE COME THAT THEY(US) MAY HAVE LIFE AND THAT THEY HAVE IT MORE ABUNDANTLY.

 

YES, GOD ALWAYS HAS OUR BEST INTEREST AT HEART. GOD NEVER INTENDS FOR US TO LIVE DEFEATED AND DOWN TRODEN LIVE.  YES, WE ARE GOING TO HAVE OUR TIMES OF HARDSHIP AND DISTRESS, SOME TIMES OF SADNESS AND MAYBE EVEN EMOTIONAL TURMOIL, BUT YET WE MUST NEVER FORGET THAT GOD IS STILL GOD.

IN ISAIAH 55 THE PROPHET IS EXTENDING TO THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL AN INVITATION TO LIVE AN ABUNDANT LIFE.

 

IN THE FIRST 5 VERSES HE EXALTS THEM TO COME TO THE WATERS, YOU WHO HAVE NO MONEY, COME BUY AND EAT, BUY WINE AND MILK WITH NO MONEY AND WITHOUT PRICE, THE LORD ASK WHY DO YOU SPEND MONEY FOR THE THINGS THAT DON'T SATISFY.  THE LORD IS SENDING THE INVITATION. HE IS TELLING US ALL OF HIS BLESSING ARE AVAILABLE JUST COME IF THERE IS A THIRST IN YOUR LIFE, IF YOU HUNGER FOR THE REAL BREAD OF LIFE, COME GOD GIVES FREELY.

 

THEREFORE, HOW DO I LIVE GOD'S WAY

1.  VERSES 6-7 BEGIN WITH ACCEPTING THE INVITATION TO FORGIVENESS—SEEK THE LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND, THE OLD FOLK Used TO SAY WHILE YOU ARE STILL HERE, WHILE THE BLOOD IS RUNNING WARM IN YOUR BODY. JESUS SAID IN MATTHEW 633 SEEK FIRST THE KINGDOM OF GOD AND IT'S RIGHTEOUSNESS AND ALL THESE THINGS WILL BE ADDED TO YOU. WE OFTEN ARE LOOKIING FOR   A RIGHTEOUS LIFE IN THE WRONG PLACE, ISAIAH SAYS LET THE WICKED FORSAKE HIS WAYS AND THE UNRIGHTEOUS HIS THOUGHTS. IT TIME TO RETURN TO THE LORD AND THE PROMISE IS MERCY AND AN ABUNDANT PARDON. GOD IS READY TO FORGIVE.

 

2.  VERSES 7-9 ACKNOWLEDGE GOD KNOWS BETTER THAN WE:

HIS THOUGHTS ARE PURE AND HIS WAYS ARE WITHOUT FLAWS, IN GOD THERE IS ALWAYS GOODNESS, WITH GOD THERE IS ALWAYS LOVE, WITH GOD THERE IS ALWAYS CARE. HIS THOUGHTS ARE HIGHER, HIS THOUGHTS HIGHER AND HIS WAYS ARE HIGHER.

 

3.  REMEMBER GOD'S WORD WILL NEVER FAIL: IT WILL ACCOMPLISH WHAT HE PLEASES.  ONE OF THE CHARACTERISTICS OF GOD IS VERACITY—IT MEANS TRUTH, GOD IS TRUTH JESUS DECLARED I AM THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE. GOD WORD WILL NOT RETURN TO HIM VOID, IT WILL ACCOMPLISH THAT WHICH HE PLEASES.
